Most legendary Vilnius masterpiece – the Church of St. Anne’s?

The most famous Gothic masterpieces of the World are the Cathedrals of Rheims, Chartres, Amiens and Paris, which are all in the area where Gothic style originated, first and foremost in France. Napoleon came from the land of these masterpieces and, as the two hundred year old legend tells, on seeing the Church of St. Anne in Vilnius wanted to put it in his palm and carry back to Paris. Interestingly, the Church of St. Anne is the easternmost Gothic jewel, and Gothic style in general didn’t travel further than Vilnius. Baroque style, on the other hand, reached the river Dniepr and eastern edges of the Lithuanian Grand Duchy in the 17th century.
